You’ve probably heard of Ozempic – it seems to be everywhere in the press at the moment. It is a new tool in the fight against obesity, and it can have really positive effects in quick timescales. Very simply, you receive a pen and give yourself an injection once a week (going up in doses so your body gets accustomed to the drug).
There is eligibility criteria regarding your BMI or other secondary conditions, and it should always be used in conjunction with a holistic weight loss plan. It’s important to put some lifestyle changes in place (and actually, Ozempic can help with some of these as it does reduce appetite, and also appears to reduce alcohol consumption – which is obviously calorific).
There are some side effects – normally in the early days as your body gets used to it – namely tummy upsets or feeling sick. These tend to pass fairly quickly.
As with any drug, there are costs and benefits.
If you think it might be for you, book in and we can talk.
