There is a link between the Flu vaccine and Covid19; the WHO recommend that everyone receives the flu vaccination. As you may be aware, flu is a coronavirus and so protecting against flu can support if you become infected with Covid19.

There are other reasons. I wrote the article below when we weren’t fully aware of the horrendous impact of Covid, and now I would recommend that everyone has the vaccine to protect themselves, and others, from the worse consequences of Covid.

As a man, I’ve often experienced ‘man flu’ and felt I was dying. But in the cold light of day, I just had a cold. Flu is totally different.

A cold is a milder respiratory illness than the flu. While cold symptoms can make you feel poorly for a few days, flu symptoms can make you feel extremely ill for longer.

Flu can be more severe, and even life threatening. It’s a little known (if scary) fact that flu killed more people in 1918 than were killed in the First World War. It is worse in certain groups of people; those over 65, or who are pregnant or have compromised immune systems, or with breathing problems such as asthma.

A flu jab is a vaccine, which means it stops you getting the disease. Flu can be life-threatening or at least a serious and miserable inconvenience. I would recommend a quick and easy nasal spray or ‘jab’ to prevent it.
